Nova Scotia and PEI

Last week we went back East to the other coast.  We went with Ben’s parents and his Gram who grew up there.  It was beautiful but altogether too short.  We stayed at Bonnie’s (Gram) niece’s house in Hantsport, NS for a few nights before travelling to PEI to stay at a loverly little B and B called the Historic Maplethorpe B and B.  Finally we moved onto Goldboro, NS to stay with one of Gram’s sisters and her husband before heading back to Halifax and home.    Here are some pics.

NS 3Peggy’s Cove, home of the most expensive lobster sandwich… but very pretty.

NS 6 Mahone Bay, NS.  It is home to the Saltspray Cafe.  A great little restaurant with huge portions and delicious meals!

The Annapolis Valley.  It was a balmy 29 degrees out.

Of course we went and visited a few wineries while we were in the Annapolis Valley and most fortunately lucked into a tour of Muir Murray Estate Winery which hadn’t even opened yet.  We met up with the director of the winery Wayne Macdonald and he gave us a tour of the facilities and the greenhouses.  It was great.  Thanks very much Wayne.  If you ever come out this way!
